Womans only workout: the walk between the bedroom and the kitchen
This is how the media depicts women. The media makes woman's image so different than it is in real life. In killing us softly 3 around 5:05 the woman describes an ad where there is a boy and a girl walking next to each other. She explains how the boy has already developed how to look tough and that he is already looking down at the girl, and the girl has learned her passive smile. Little ads like these say alot to young men growing up trying to figure out girls. I have seen many other ads in which the girls are in a degrading pose that makes men feel like they are better and more achieved then any girl. These ads are everywhere and it is because of the media that woman don't get the respect that they deserve and strive for. Also, some ads use woman as objects and it makes people, especially men, see woman as things instead of equal individuals. Even though these ads may be sexy, interesting, and risque, the truth is that they are making young men feel and think more negatively about woman than ever before. As we watched Killing us softly 4 in class today, i was laughing because i thought the ads were funny, which they were. As i thought about the ads throughout the day i began to notice that even though me and my male classmates thought they were funny, they were very degrading towards females. But this is what our society has come to to sell product to men, and even woman. I believe our society seriously needs help if it has to go to degrading femininity and masculinity to sell products to Americans'.

I think that while we may not realize it, these ads serve to de-individualize women and hinder them psychologically.
